Laboratory | Enviromental Studies
In the laboratory of environmental studies analysis of samples of zoobenthos, macrophytes, phytoplankton and diatoms are carried out.
The processing of biological samples are available the following equipment:
- Binocular (stereoscopic microscopes) with cold light used for taxonomic identification of benthic macroinvertebrates.
- Trinocular inverted microscope for the identification and quantification of phytoplankton.
- Optical microscope, used for the determination of primary producers, ie, macroscopic algae and diatoms bentonites.
- Epifluorescence microscope for identification and counting using epifluorescence techniques FISH Microscopio for identification and counting using FISH techniques.
- Preparation of studies by electron microscopy.
It also has all the necessary means for the processing of biological samples and identification of organisms (light tower sieves of decreasing mesh material entomological dissection settling chamber sliding base, counting chambers, etc.) materials including an extensive bibliography, consisting of identification keys, general and specific, and high distribution, essential for carrying out the taxonomic determinations of organisms.
